New North Cyprus operator established
A new tour operator specialising in Northern Cyprus is being established by an overseas property investment company.
Sirocco Travel will focus on providing luxury five star accommodation for short term lets in North Cyprus.
The launch of Sirocco Travel reflects a predicted surge of tourists from 433,000 to two million in the next five years, as steps are made to unify Cyprus, according to the company.
The operator, which will be sold by more than 800 travel counsellors, and 800 travel franchises, will be registered with ABTA and carry and Air Travel Organisers’ Licence.
All properties, which will be privately managed by Property International, will be available for rent through the operator. Properties will also receive accreditation from the Northern Cyprus Tourist Board.
Property International acquired the Palm Development in Famagusta, North Cyprus this year. The development will comprise 25 villas and more than 700 apartments. The company is planning further developments in North Cyprus.
Director Dermot O’Kane said: “The region had long been overlooked by both tourists and investors. However, North Cyprus has a lot to offer – fantastic beaches, weather and beautiful scenery.
“Not only will Sirocco Travel offer a great service for holidaymakers, but will also strengthen Property International’s offering to clients.
“The operator will have a large client bank and will be in a position to promote and advertise the properties. It will provide the perfect additional support for our clients who have purchased a property to gain an excellent rental income.â€
