New tours from Globus
The Connecticut-based Globus announced plans to introduce a new series of escorted tours for 2009 called Vignettes, described by the company as a sort of “panorama lite.â€
The new tours starting in October are a modification of the classic panorama tour with longer stays in each city, more rail travel and increased free time.
The tours cater to first-time visitors to Europe. They are based on marketing studies by Globus.
Each program is 14 or fewer days total with almost all stops being two- or three-night stays.
They include fewer countries than the traditional panorama tour.
Globus will roll out the product with four programs: The Best of Italy and France; Europe’s Golden Coast, from Rome to Madrid; Highlights of Italy and Eastern Europe, from Rome to Berlin; and Enchanting Europe, including Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.
As part of its 2009 vacation offerings, Globus has also unveiled two new itineraries: Fascinating China & Mongolia with Yangtze River Cruise and Essential Thailand, as well as increased opportunities to travel independently through the Asia Pacific region byway of Monograms.
“We are not only revealing new vacation itineraries in both China and Thailand, our vacation styles in this region of the world have increased,†said Scott Nisbet, chief operating officer for the Globus family of brands. “We’re offering travelers everything from special event vacations, including celebrating the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong, to River Cruise getaways.
