New Web site allows searches in milliseconds

Tourico Holidays launched speed-enhancing, user-friendly performance upgrades to its Web site  —  making it one of the fastest mechanisms in the travel industry for tour operators and wholesalers.

The high-performance software multiples the speed of the Web site tenfold, the company says. It reduces search time from eight or ten seconds to up to 35 milliseconds.

Other upgrades make the site more user-friendly such as the ability to search hotel locations and book accommodations directly from a map.

“Currently, we’re the only travel company with this revolutionary mapping feature  —  you can book hotel accommodations directly off the locator map or at the Tourico’s Web site,” said a spokeswoman. The map will show users whether rooms are available or not and see satellite maps using the new mapping software.

“With the introduction of these powerful software enhancements, we are one of the fastest Web sites in the travel industry,” said Amir Kalmar, vice president of sales and marketing,

An inventory of 10,000 current hotels in seven languages will have even more listings by April, said Mr Kalmar.

Tourico Holidays, a subsidiary of Travel Holdings, is expanding globally with office openings in 19 locations.
