New Zealand pushes its business events portfolio
Thailand’s Sukosol Hotels has made a strong statement at the opening of IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific in Bangkok, hosting a dinner for international buyers and corporate travel managers.
Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, executive vice president of Sukosol Hotels, said the new brand ( previously Siam Hotels & Resorts) is "Thailand’s only boutique collection of distinctly unique and artistic hotels".
Others out and about at IT&CMA this week included Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) , Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Airports of Thailand, Dusit International, sky100 Hong Kong Observation Deck and Taiwan Pavilion.
Mischa Mannix-Opie, regional manager – South & South East Asia of TNZ said: "This is a big year for Tourism New Zealand in the MICE market. We have had a significant increase in funding specifically to attract business events – incentives and conferences – to New Zealand.
"We will be doing so through our new brand, 100% Pure New Zealand Beyond Convention, that represents what the destination has to offer."
TCEB also took advantage of IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific to officially launch its new brand Thailand Connect, while Taiwan held its Meet Taiwan networking event for local industry buyers and media to maximise its already significant presence at the show.
