Newell’s Travel founders get Lifetime Achievement award
A special Lifetime Achievement Award went to Roger and Helen Hawk, owners of Newell’s Travel in South West England, at this week’s Power of You Conference by the Travel Network Group.

Established in 1962 with a single branch in Falmouth, Newell’s has grown into Devon and Cornwall’s largest independent travel agency group.
The miniple was a Worldchoice member but switched to the Global Travel Network in 2008. It returned to Worldchoice at the start of 2016.
At the awards, held at the TTNG Conference which takes place every 18 months, Simon and Claire Morgan at Tailor Made Travel were given a Special Recognition Award.
Member of the Year awards also went to Beacon Travel (Worldchoice Plus), Lorna Hardy (ITE), Party Hard Travel (TTA), and Lincolnshire Co op (Worldchoice).
"The Member of the Year Awards were introduced about five years ago and have gained real momentum," said Lewis.
"Members are invited to vote for who they feel are the worthy winners and then the Board reviews the most popular ones and those they feel best support the criteria. It’s our overall aim to make our members feel special at our conferences and the awards play a key role in this."
Henning added: "The awards part of the conference is always a highlight for us and for our members. There is always a real buzz beforehand with members speculating on who might win, and it’s great that there’s so much support for them."
Earlier in the evening, awards were dished out to business partners of consortium. These were as follows:
Car Hire Provider – Flexible Autos
Ancillaries Provider – Holiday Extras
