Nigerian airliner crashes
Latest reports suggest a Nigerian airliner with 116 people on board, including several high ranking officials, crashed shortly after taking off from Lagos en route to the capital Abuja.
According to a state government official , at least 50 passengers survived the crash. The Bellview Airlines flight 210 is believed to have sent a distress call minutes after taking off at 8.45pm AEST from Lagos amid a heavy electrical storm.
A Reuters report stated the airliner was carrying 116 people: 110 passengers and six crew.
