Thirteen people, including 9 children were hospitalized after falling ill at the Marriott Shadow Ridge Resort.
Three children are reportedly in a serious condition.
April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department said the vapor was detected near the south pool area, causing respiratory problems.
The pool’s filtration system is being fingered as the probable cause however hazmat investigators were still on site late Monday inspecting equipment.
By late Monday the exact vapor emitted was not disclosed.
Just weeks ago four people, including two children, suffered an electric shock while swimming in a different pool at the same resort.
