Nobu hotel to open in Chicago
Lifestyle hotel and restaurant group Nobu Hospitality is planning a luxury boutique property in Chicago.
The company has chosen the West Loop area in the city for its latest project, which is planned to open early in 2016.
It will feature 155 rooms, a Nobu Restaurant, bar, lounge and rooftop venue.
Shawn Sullivan of the Rockwell Group has been chosen to design the property.
It will join a fast expanding portfolio of luxury hotels including the Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, and properties in development in Miami Beach, Manila and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Nobu Hospitality chief executive Trevor Horwell said Chicago is an important destination for the company, calling it "a key global city and a magnet for business and leisure travellers".
Nobu is spearheaded by Japanese culinary icon Chef Nobu in partnership with Hollywood actor Robert di Niro and film producer Meir Teper.
