Nominations open for 2016 British Travel Awards

Nominations are now open for the British Travel Awards 2016.

This year there are 150 awards in total, consisting of 82 categories.

In a bid to allow specialist, niche and smaller enterprises to be recognised by their customers, 34 of the awards being graded by size.

"The sooner travel companies get registered to be listed on the BTA nomination form the more time they have to plan their lobbying campaign to get their customers votes," said BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton.

"It’s very easy to register, there are no time consuming company profile submissions we just need to know the name of the brand nominated and in which category.

"The winners are determined solely by the number of consumer votes received – no submissions to write, judges to impress or nerve wracking interviews!"

"Last year over a quarter of a million households took part in the British Travel Awards – that is incredible exposure for any brand."

Winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner in London on November 23.

This year the award categories are as follows:

– 14 Best tour operators awards by holiday type – family, activity/sports, coach, rail, camping

– 18 Best tour operator awards to destinations

– 10 Best travel retailers awards

– 7 Best cruiselines awards

– 5 Best international hotels awards

– 6 Customer service awards

– 3 Best ferries, car hire awards

– 8 Holiday add on company awards

– 11 Best UK / domestic holidays and attractions awards
