Saturday, 28 Jun, 2013 0

Nominations are now open for this year’s Association of Women Travel Executives Chair’s Awards.

Sponsored by Avis, the awards will be presented at a dinner on July 16 2013 at Devonshire Terrace, London.

In memory of AWTE’s founding member Joan Richardson, the awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of women and companies that support women in the travel industry.

Nominations should be submitted through the AWTE website.

The three awards up for grabs are:

AWTE Honorary Award (in memory of Joan Richardson) – an esteemed accolade celebrating overall contribution to the Association and/or travel industry.

Business Impact Award – an award in recognition of an individual who has successfully brought innovation to the industry and created new platforms for communication or networking. Successful nominees will have demonstrated these heights of innovation in their role either as an employee or perhaps as a pioneering sole business owner.

The Company Award – supporting women in business, established this year as a formal recognition of a particular business’ efforts and attitude to its female staff.

The guest speaker at the dinner will be Chris Browne, managing director of Thomson Airways, who was recently awarded an OBE for her services to aviation.

With over 25 years’ experience in the travel sector, she is responsible for a fleet of 62 aircraft and a team of over 5,000 people.

Tickets to the awards dinner are available through the AWTE website, priced at £69 per person, £690 for a table of 10, and £81 for Chair’s Awards non-members.
