NY Gov. Cuomo launches year-round upstate bus tours
After earlier announcing a winter season public bus schedule for skiers, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has launched the year-round I LOVE NEW YORK bus service to a range of upstate destinations.
A varied schedule will connect riders to wine, beer and cider trails, and seasonal festivals throughout the state.
The pick-up and drop-off point will be at the corner of 44th Street and Third Avenue in Manhattan near Grand Central Station.
Tourism officials are urging riders to book in advance on its website as demand is likely to be high, although fares can be purchased onboard if space allows.
The first bus tours in the fall include trips on the North Fork Beverage Trail in Long Island on Saturdays from mid-October.
"Tourism is thriving in New York and increasing access to some of this state’s most scenic landscapes and recreational areas is the next step," Governor Cuomo said.
"From wine, beer and cider makers in the Finger Lakes and Long Island, to the world-class winter resorts in the Catskills, Central New York and the North Country and beyond, this bus service will help more people discover and enjoy all that New York State has to offer," he added.
The I LOVE NEW YORK bus service will be operated by Southampton-based Hampton Jitney.
