Oceania Cruises offering free shipboard Wi-Fi
Oceania Cruises is the latest line to offer free round-the-clock shipboard Wi-Fi.
The Miami-based cruise line said free, unlimited Internet service will be included for all stateroom and suite categories across its six-ship fleet, beginning next month.
However this is for basic surfing such as social media. A high bandwidth streaming upgrade is available at $9.99 a day.
"Our guests and crew can continue to surf, post and stream aboard our ships from anywhere around the globe, just as they would at home," said president and CEO Bob Binder.
It comes as Oceania rolls out a new internet system called Wavenet.
Oceania joins premium lines Crystal Cruises, Hurtegruten, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Silversea in offering free Internet plans.
