Odyssey offers three new luxury river cruise itineraries
Odyssey River Cruises has announced three new itineraries for individuals or small groups. Their Class 1E vessel, based in Mannum, an hour’s drive from Adelaide, offers four en suite staterooms, a top deck lounge and cocktail bar, spa room with private spa bath for two, modern kitchen and indoor or al fresco dining, and panoramic views throughout.
Menus feature local fresh food and wine, such as oysters or grilled barramundi. Activities include birdwatching, fishing, sightseeing, watersports and nocturnal wildlife tours. Guests are likely to see sulphur crested cockatoo, kangaroos, goannas, black swans and Murray cod.
Optional tours include “Black Duck Dreaming” – a tour of the Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Site, “Big Bend by Night Eco Tour”, “Barossa Valley Wineries” and the Yukamurra Earth Sanctuary.
New cruise options:
4 days/ 3 nights– Heading from Mannum towards Maidment Swamp, this cruise visits Bowhill and continues along the Purnong Ferry crossing to Walker Flat before embarking on the return journey. Price: A$1099 (£452).
5 days / 4 nights cruises past Mannum to Maidment Swamp, then on to Bowhill and the township of Walker Flat, continuing to Big Ben and mooring at Swan Reach. The Ngaut Ngaut historic Aboriginal site is visited before the return cruise. Price: A$1429 (£588).
7 days/ 6 nights – This week-long cruise offers 340kms. of scenery and wildlife, travelling through three locks. Night cruising and experienced and friendly staff are all part of the experience. The cruise travels from Mannum to Maidment Swamp, Bowhill and Walker Flat before visiting Swan Reach Museum and Blanchetown lock. The cruise continues on to Morgan and Waikerie and includes Kingston on Murray and Loxton, subject to water levels, where the return journey is taken overland. Price: A$1740 (£715). All prices are per person, twin share, including all meals and onshore tours.
