Official Response

Britannia Hotels take any comments seriously, and are naturally concerned and disappointed to receive this negative publicity, and as such we have acted to address these issues.

An investment program to update our properties is well under way; we have invested 20 million-pounds on a refurbishment programme in 2006/07, and a further 25 million-pounds in 2007/08.

We have reviewed the comments made on the Tripadvisor site over the last 12 months for the hotels in question and feel that the comments were in most cases not down to cleanliness, but on the standard of furnishings. We have now moved onto the hotels in question, and they are undergoing refurbishment in order to improve standards.

We are committed to improving the service we offer guests, and as part of this we have opened a dedicated Reservation Centre, allowing us to deal with Reservation requests more efficiently. We have also developed and launched a new website providing our guests with far more information regarding our Hotels and Special Offers, as well as making it easier to book.

We believe in offering a good value for money product in fantastic locations and a relaxed and friendly environment. We would like our customers to have confidence in booking Britannia Hotels in the future, and we look forward to receiving more positive reviews.
