O’Hare’s dubious achievement: No. 1
Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport has surpassed Atlanta as the busiest in the US, according to government statistics.
In third place: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
Chicago and Atlanta in recent years have been close rivals for the title of the nation’s busiest.
O’Hare was down 1.3% in flights from last year but still led the list, says the Federal Aviation Authority.
What’s next? A major expansion project at O’Hare expected to be completed in 2013 will make it even busier.
