Real Madrid football club will promote tourism to Spain and Madrid.

The agreement will reach an estimated audience of more than 300 million people, who will be exposed to the slogan, “Visit Spain, Visit Madrid”.

The top Real Madrid players will become Spain and Madrid brand ambassadors in international advertising campaigns, and the club will also allow the destinations access to advertising space at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

The agreement signifies the start of a new marketing strategy by Turespaña (Spain Tourism Board) to brand Spain as the home of leading athletes.

It is a follow-up to the campaign focusing on Spain as a prime gastronomy destination and the home of star chef, Ferran Adria.

One of the main markets that the Spain Tourism Board hopes to reach with Real Madrid is Asia, where the football club receives strong support from its fans.

TravelMole Tweet: Tourism Spain is backing a winner. This week Real Madrid beat Malaga 7-0 and Cristiano Ronaldo score a hat-trick.
