One Ocean Expeditions goes into administration
Troubled cruise line One Ocean Expeditions looks to have possibly sailed its last voyage.
It has entered into administration after being forced to cancel cruises over the past few months.
The Canada based line confirmed it will be ‘entering into a formal business administration process.’
The company had been operating Arctic and Antarctica cruises, and charter voyages.
"This latest news has brought clarity for booked customers in terms of now knowing the options. Swoop is working with our customers to help find the best outcome for each one," partner Swoop Travel said.
It announced the cancellation of the January 17 cruise only last week, stating it was ‘diligently restructuring the business in an effort to avoid entirely shutting down, so that we can continue to serve customers.’
It had signed a deal with a ‘qualified, reputable operator’ to offer alternative options to booked guests.
Hurtigruten had been offering ‘compassionate rates’ for an alternative cruise for affected One Ocean guests but denied it has signed a partnership or purchased any of its assets.
