Operator reveals increase in solo bookings
Exodus has reported a significant increase in solo bookings in the last few months.
Usually, around 39% of the operator’s customers are solo travellers, yet in the last two months this has risen to 66%.
Marketing director Jae Hopkins said: "There has recently been a huge increase in the number of Brits taking part in activities such as Tough Mudders or ParkRuns, as well as joining cycling clubs across the country.
"People are looking for new experiences, and ways to broaden their worlds.
"We see the increase in solo bookings as a continuation of this trend: people doing something that makes them happy – whether they have a partner or friend who fancies doing it with them or not."
Cycling, walking and winter holidays are the most popular choices for solo travellers, but the current trend has also become evident across wildlife and cultural discovery holidays.
According to Global Travel Insights Report Sojern’s search trends for the third quarter of 2016, 59% travel searches for long-haul holidays departing from the UK were for a party of one.
