Opodo appoints UK country manager
Joint airline website Opodo has appointed a former Go executive to the role of UK country manager.
Jenny Taylor, who was previously internet sales and marketing manager for the low cost airline, will head Opodo’s UK marketing operations ahead of the UK launch which is expected later this month. Opodo marketing director Nicolas De Santis said: “Jenny’s contribution will be invaluable as she has a wealth of leading and highly respected experience in the online travel market in the UK.”
Prior to her post at Go, Ms Taylor held the position of e-Commerce Manager for KLM uk, the wholly owned subsidiary of KLM, and was involved with the relaunch of www.klmuk.com.
Opodo launched its first site www.opodo.de in Germany in December 2001 and will be launching in the UK in January. The site is a joint venture between nine European carriers – Aer Lingus, Air France, Alitalia, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, KLM and Lufthansa.
