More recently he was chief executive of experiences sellers, Red Letter Days, before working on management buy-in opportunities in the leisure sector with private equity houses.
He takes over from acting chief executive Bart Tompkins, who will return to his role at Amadeus of director of e-commerce investment.

A second appointment is Bas Lemmens, who takes the same role, of director of hotel supply, for the Americas and Caribbean region. Mr Lemmens comes from Netherlands-based hotel reservation company, Bookings, or www.bookings.nl.
