Options to GDS?
Airline GDS’s may be phasing out but in the transition it’s best for companies to offer options, says Claude Guay, president and CEO of Accovia.
“People sometimes forget there’s going to be a transition period. So we’re not offering one versus the other. We’re offering choices,” he said.
He said Accovia’s Air Solution offers a mix of shopping and booking on traditional GDS, Navitaire DirectNet (the same as G2 Switch Network), ITA software and local inventory. That allows users to have both the technology and support of both old and new commercial and technology arrangements from different airline partners, according to Mr Guay.
Accovia’s Navitaire helps airlines increase profits by providing technology that provides solutions in a short time using a laptop. The system also offers price savings, according to Mr Guay.
Accovia supplies travel packaging technology and IT solutions to travel suppliers, wholesalers and retailers.
LibGO Travel Inc., the nation’s largest private owned leisure travel agency, recently selected Accovia’s Air Solution for its reservation system.
