Orbitz announces technology tool
Orbitz for Business announced what it called the “first, fully-integrated customer care” offering that combines Orbitz’ technology tools with a broad range of tailored services, including an international rate desk. The company said its offering would meet the corporate needs of corporate travelers at companies of all sizes. “Orbitz for Business realizes there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to customer service,” said Rick Weber, vice president for Orbitz’ Business Travel Services. He said clients can select such options as the executive travel department, designed for companies that required specialized skills to assist executives. Another option is shared premier travel counselors, made for customers who do not require dedicated access but only on an as-needed basis. Technology tools offered include Orbitz’ Interactive Voice Response, which the company says makes it the first online agency to provide an easy-to-use and intuitive natural-language messaging platform that allows travelers to confirm itineraries and other information instantly by phone anywhere in the world. –Report by David Wilkening–
