Orbitz tries to ditch Worldspan
Orbitz wants to terminate its contract with Worldspan from the end of this month.
Orbitz, described by Worldspan as “one of its principal online customers” wants to end the agreement because it is unhappy with the level of service provided by the GDS.
Worldspan says it will take further action. In a statement the GDS said: “Worldspan has provided and continues to provide a superior level of service and Orbitz does not have the right to terminate the agreement.”
Talks continue between the two companies, and a statement issued by Orbitz said it was keen reach a resolution with Worldspan. A spokesperson for Worldspan told TravelMole that he could not comment further on the progress of negotiations between the two.
In a statement, Worldspan added: “A termination of the Orbitz agreement could have a material impact upon Worldspan’s business.”
