Orlando airport exec joining Gateway Airports Council
Greater Orlando Aviation Authority executive director Phil Brown has been named 2016 vice chairman of the airport advocacy group Gateway Airports Council.
The group works alongside U.S. Travel on policy issues relating to airport infrastructure, the entry process and the visa waiver program.
"It is gratifying to have the opportunity to help bring awareness to the challenges we’re facing as airports," Brown said.
"I look forward to working with other gateway airports and U.S. Travel in an effort to build relationships and provide a stronger, more unified voice for the entire industry."
The Gateway Airports Council represents 15 of the largest international gateway airports.
These include Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Miami and San Francisco.
GOAA chairman Frank Kruppenbacher said: "With increasing passenger traffic and capital improvement projects currently underway at Orlando International Airport, Phil Brown is well-suited to provide valuable contributions to our airport colleagues."
