Oyo launches travel trade portal
Rapidly expanding budget chain Oyo Hotels and Homes is targeting a new market: travel advisors.
It is rolling out a trade portal called SuperAgent.
It has so far seen huge growth globally through direct website and app channels and via OTAs and is now finally courting the travel trade beyond India.
Oyo says the SuperAgent web portal will provide offline agents with a simple and quick way to book Oyo accommodation for clients.
Bookings can be made for bulk travel and package bookings.
It has a simplified homepage which displays access to recent searches, recommended hotels, and special deals.
Registered agents can refine search criteria to show properties based on relevant prices, along with a detailed commission report, and sales summary.
"The role of travel agents in the industry has become increasingly important in ensuring a seamless experience for our customers," said Gaurav Ajmera, Oyo’s chief operating officer, India & South Asia.
Gaurav says Oyo works with about 12,000 agents within India.
"We have created SuperAgent – an intuitive and self-serve environment that will simplify the booking experience for travel agents and thereby help them engage better with consumers."
