PAL launching ferry service linking Kalibo Airport and Boracay
Philippine Airlines is offering a new last mile option for travelers flying to Boracay.
It is venturing into the ferry business with the launch of a new shipping subsidiary.
Mabuhay Maritime Express Transport Inc will ferry passengers to Boracay from Kalibo on new 42-metre catamarans.
It says service will begin in time for Boracay’s official reopening later this month.
The ferry will complement PAL’s scheduled air services.
Passengers arriving at Kalibo on PAL flights will be offered promotional fares for the ferry ride which takes about 90 minutes.
The public-private project has cost more than PHP600 million to construct, which includes a new passenger terminal adjacent to Kalibo airport.
