Passenger found dead in toilet on Jet2 flight
A passenger was discovered dead in the toilet on a Jet2 flight bound for Manchester.
Cabin crew found the man deceased after other passengers became concerned at the length of time the toilet was occupied.
The flight from Tenerife was then diverted to Cork.
“My husband reported someone had been in the plane’s toilet for a long time and said that he thought he was dead. Tragically he was right,” one passenger told The Mirror.
The deceased man was thought to be travelling alone.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: “Flight LS918 from Tenerife to Manchester diverted to Cork Airport due to a customer requiring medical attention.
“Regrettably, we can confirm that the customer sadly passed away. This was an extremely difficult situation for our crew. Our thoughts are with the customer’s family and friends.”
