Passenger rescued from Indian Ocean plane crash
A teenage girl has been found alive after an Airbus 310 crashed in the Indian Ocean.
The Yemenia Air aircraft was flying from the Yemeni capital of Sanaa to Moroni, the capital of the Comoros archipelago, with 153 people on board.
Some bodies have also been recovered from the wreckage of the plane.
The 14-year-old girl is in hospital but her condition is said to be improving.
It is not yet known what caused the crash, but there were reports of bad weather in the area.
Investigators have now located one of the black box flight recorders.
Yesterday the French transport ministry said the Airbus 310 plane had been banned from France because of “irregularities”.
Most passengers had travelled to Sanaa from Paris or Marseille on a different aircraft and 66 of the passengers were French.
Earlier this month, an Air France Airbus 330 travelling from Rio de Janeiro to Paris crashed into the Atlantic, killing all 228 on board.
