Passengers and crew survive plane crash in Sudan
A passenger plane burst into flames after crash-landing in South Sudan yesterday, but all 49 passengers and crew survived.
The accident happened at Wau airport in the northwestern of the country.
As the Antonov 26 plane crashed, its door flew open, which allowed the 44 passengers, pilot and five crew to escape, said officials.
Several injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
The plane was being operated by South Supreme Airlines, a South Sudanese carrier and was flying from Juba to Wau.
Most of the passengers were South Sudanese, but one was from China and one from Eritrea.
