Passengers injured in Continental accident
Passengers were injured as a Continental Airlines aircraft went off the runway at Denver airport.
The Boeing 737-500 with 110 passengers and five crew was involved in the incident on Sunday night.
The airline confirmed that a number of injuries had been reported and passengers and crew had been taken to hospital.
The aircraft was due to take off on a service to Houston.
The airline’s chairman and chief executive Larry Kellner said: “The care of our passengers, crew and family members is our highest priority and they will receive any assistance necessary.
“We are deeply concerned by this accident and will do everything we can for the passengers, their families and our co-workers.”
The airline said it was in the process of collecting additional information about what happened to flight 1404 and will communicate additional information once it is known.
