Pattaya opens Jet ski assistance offices for tourists

Tuesday, 18 Nov, 2015 0
The Thai resort city of Pattaya has established dedicated Jet Ski Tourist Assistance Centres specifically to mediate between tourists and jet ski providers over accidents and scams which have tainted the resort city’s reputation.

Three centres have opened at Pattaya Soi 9, Jomtien Beach and the island of Ko Lan.

The centres are a joint effort by Pattaya City Council, Chon Buri Provincial Administration, the Tourism and Sports Office of Chon Buri Province and the Marine Department of Pattaya.

Service centre staff will provide legal advice to tourists after a jet ski accident or dispute with an operator.

Pattaya City estimates there are more than 400 jet skis for rent in Pattaya, Wong Amat, Na Jomtien and Koh Lan and all registered jet ski operators must purchase insurance to cover costs associated with damages or expenses arising out of accidents.
