Peal River Delta closes the gap
MACAU – Work will begin this year on the cross-delta bridge linking Macau and Zhuhai with Hong Kong, senior central government officials have confirmed.
The bridge is part of a much bigger plan for infrastructure development of roads and railways in the Pearl River Delta.
The bridge will make the Hong Kong International Airport a bus ride away from Macau.
Destination Macau says the bridge will likely only be finished by 2015 at the earliest, “but the real question is whether this is enough time for Macau to get its internal infrastructure ready for the massive inflow of private cars and busesâ€.
