Philippines scrapping ban on foreign travellers
The Philippines is lifting its entry ban on foreign tourists next month after nearly two years.
To revive a crippled tourism industry Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said it will reopen to travellers from more than 150 countries visa-free starting February 10. Arrivals will not have to quarantine if fully vaccinated and produce a negative Covid test on arrival.
More than a million Filipinos lost their jobs in tourism during the first year of the pandemic "We will closely monitor the situation and ensure that health and safety protocols are strictly implemented," Puyat said.
