Pods and pads for Mercure lobby experience
The Accor group’s midscale hotel brand Mercure is rolling out its new interactive lobby concept in Australia.
The Mercure in Brisbane is the first in Australia to implement the new concept, originally piloted at the Mercure Tower Bridge in London in April 2013.
Coming after Mercure Brisbane’s multimillion-dollar room refurbishment, a key feature for the new space is a free-form host pod in place of a traditional front desk.
The lobby lounge area also includes a Nespresso coffee machine for guests to self serve coffee, and a reading area with magazines, brochures and iPads,
Instead of using desktop computers to check guests in, Mercure Brisbane staff now navigate the lobby space with tablets.
