Polo Club to become Olympics’ helipad
The Ham Polo Club in central London is to be used as a helicopter landing site during the 2012 Olympics.
The site, which is eight miles from Hyde Park, will be used by Jet Booking Direct as an alternative to Battersea Heliport.
Director of Jet Booking Direct Steve Blight said Ham Polo Club offered a practical and reasonably priced alternative for clients coming to London for the Olympics.
There are several notified landing sites within the Polo Club, each of which can accommodate twin-engine helicopters, subject to Civil Aviation Authority approval.
