Portsmouth departures added by Fred. Olsen
Cruises from Portsmouth are to be offered by Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines next year.
The port becomes the seventh UK departure point for the company, joining Dover, Southampton, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leith and Greenock.
The Portsmouth cruises will be offered on Boudicca, one of the line’s five ships.
The new ex-UK departures are part of a newly-issued 2009-10 worldwide programme which features 160 cruises.
The brochure features 312 different ports and 134 countries and islands and include three world cruises.
The line’s newest ship Balmoral will sail on two of the global voyages with Black Watch conducting the other.
Balmoral will also run long cruises to Canada and the US while Black Watch will sail around South America.
Two ships – Braemar and Boudicca – will run winter Caribbean fly/cruises from Miami or Barbados.
An increased programme of Mediterranean fly/cruises based in Civitavecchia (Rome) or Piraeus feature next year.
Fly/cruises will run from 19 regional airports including Aberdeen for the first time.
Cruises range from a two-night mini break, to 106 nights round the world. Destinations include the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Scandinavia. Iberia, the Canaries, Baltic, Black Sea, Caribbean and South America.
Prices start at £141 per person, for a Black Prince two-night mini cruise “Irish Jig†departing from Greenock on June 21, 2009 and visiting Dublin and Liverpool.
A new selection of ‘Civilisations’ add-on packages are aimed at discerning travellers, interested in culture, history and the arts. Dedicated hosts and expert guides and lecturers ensure a very special experience, with exclusive shore tours and in-depth on board sessions.
