P&O’s troubles re-commence

Saturday, 07 Nov, 2006 0

The restart of the inquiry into the death of Dianne Brimble, the Brisbane mother of three who died on board the Pacific Sky cruise ship four years ago is very long and very painful for her family, while also a massive operational and reputation disaster for P&O, with a Ch7 TV crew being thrown off the Pacific Sun last week and Ch7’s Today Tonight running a follow up report on tonight’s programme.

It is anticipated from of the trailers that the booting off the vessel in Port Vila of the Ch 7 crew suggests that the report will show not much has changed on board P&O’s Australia based vessels, with Ch 7 saying, these are the pictures P&O did not want you to see, as when the crew was kicked off the vessel, P&O confiscated the tapes, but Ch 7 had copies.

The Mole will be watching for certain at 6:30 tonight.

The New South Wales Deputy State Coroner Jacqueline Milledge has been tough in demanding answers from witnesses, with it becoming increasingly apparent that the police investigation appears to have been badly handled from the outset.

Yesterday, as the inquiry resumed, it was revealed the New South Wales and South Australia Police Commissioners had taken unprecedented steps to try to stop evidence being made public, claiming public interest immunity.
