Price rises not deterring summer holiday plans
The latest survey of UK holidaymakers shows that price rises isn’t deterring holidaymakers.
The latest study by Holiday Extras, revealed that just 19% of UK holidaymakers have considered changing their holiday plans this summer because of higher prices.
Less than a third (31%) of those polled considered price the most significant factor when choosing the location for their week in the sun; while three-quarters (76%) wanted to go somewhere they knew they liked.
With Brits determined to get away Hugo Loudon, Chief Financial Officer at Holiday Extras, says the right destination is key.
“The Turkish Lira is down two-thirds against the pound since 2019, so money will stretch a lot further there than in the Eurozone.”
“If a trip depends on hiring a car, make sure that you double check the prices before committing to flights; in locations such as the Balearic Islands, fleets were sold off during lockdown, which has resulted in prices going through the roof.”
“At the moment it can actually be cheaper to book an airport hotel with parking than airport parking alone especially this summer when demand is very high.”
