Princess Cruises has abruptly canceled multiple cruises out of San Diego, citing acute labor shortages.

It scrapped 11 cruises on Diamond Princess, which were scheduled to sail from San Diego between September 1 and November 13.

“The cancellations ‘will provide additional time needed to overcome our labor challenges,” the cruise line said.

Guests have been notified and offered an equivalent cruise with $100 onboard credit or a future cruise credit plus a $100 onboard credit.

Refunds are also offered.

“Princess will protect all travel agent commissions on all bookings paid in full as of Monday, August 8.”

Replacement cruises have been offered aboard Discovery Princess or Crown Princess.
