Princess Cruises latest line to increase cost of daily gratuities

Tuesday, 16 Sep, 2016 0
Princess Cruises has joined the growing list of cruise lines to hike daily gratuities during 2016.

For sailings starting on or after December 15, 2016, gratuities for interior, oceanview and balcony staterooms go up 55c to $13.50 per guest per day.

Tips for mini-suite guests rise by the same amount to $14.50, and suite guests will pay $15.50 per day.

The cut-off to prepay gratuities for future cruises at the current rate is November 15, 2016.

The line cites the need to maintain its industry leading service levels for the hike.

Daily gratuities are automatically charged to the on board account of each passenger but can be amended up or down based on satisfaction levels.

Princess follows Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean in increasing gratuities this year.
