Qantas airport worker critically injured in fall from aerobridge
A Qantas airport worker is in a critical condition after falling from an aerobridge onto the tarmac at Sydney Airport.
The Qantas customer service team member suffered head injuries and is thought to be in a coma.
She fell around 20 feet from an aerobridge at the T3 domestic terminal.
The Qantas customer service team member was initially treated by first aid responders and then rushed to hospital.
An airport spokesperson said work health and safety agency Safe Work NSW will investigate.
“Our focus is on the welfare of the injured staff member and assisting Safe Work NSW with their enquiries,” the spokesperson said.
Qantas said it is assisting with the investigation.
The Australia Federal Police (AFP) is also investigating.
