Qantas chairman stepping down
Qantas chairman Leigh Clifford is taking flight and will step down at the airlines AGM in October this year.
Clifford has been boardroom head at Qantas for 11 years.
Replacing him is current board member Richard Goyder, who is the former MD of Wesfarmers.
He joined the Qantas board last November.
Clifford describes his successor as ‘one of the most experienced business leaders in Australia and an excellent choice to lead the Qantas board into the future’.
"It’s been an absolute privilege to lead the Qantas board for these past 11 years," Clifford said.
Goyder also chairs the Australian Football League.
