Qantas plane collides with aerobridge, passengers delayed a full day
Qantas passengers were delayed almost an entire day after their aircraft collided with an aerobridge.
An engine of the Qantas A380 superjumbo made contact with the aerobridge as it was preparing for a flight to Cape Town, South Africa.
It stranded about 480 passengers who were accommodated overnight near Sydney Airport.
The airline said no injuries were reported.
Sydney Airport said: “We are working closely with Qantas as they investigate the cause of the incident and thank passengers for their patience and understanding.”
It is the second related mishap recently for Qantas at the airport.
A Qantas ground staff worker was seriously injured after falling from an aerobridge in May.
That incident is still being investigated.
