Qatar boss loses patience with Boeing Dreamliner defects
The boss of Qatar Airways has criticised aircraft manufacturer Boeing over faults with its new 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Speaking as the airline’s first Dreamliner touched down in London Heathrow yesterday, chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the airline would not tolerate any more delays or problems.
He said the continuing delays and technical problems were forcing the airline to fall behind with its expansion plans.
"We are not buying aircraft to put in museums, we’re buying them to fly," he said.
Qatar has been forced to ground one of its 787s due to electrical problems.
The problems were similar to those which recently forced a United Airlines flight to make an emergency landing.
