Qatar says there’s no deal with BA
The boss of Qatar Airways has scoffed at suggestions that the fast-growing Gulf carrier is pursuing an alliance with British Airways.
Qatar CEO Akbar al-Baker said in Doha that suggestions of a deal are nothing more than “press rumours.”
He said currently no talks were ongoing with any carrier about a partnership.
BA’s longtime partner Qantas is ending its alliance with the British carrier after Qantas signed a 10-year alliance deal with Gulf carrier Emirates.
