Queen to open new Heathrow terminal
The Queen will open the new £2.5 billion Terminal 2 at Heathrow, the airport has announced.
Her Majesty will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh for the ceremony on June 23.
The new building has been called The Queen’s Terminal in honour of Her Majesty, who also opened the old Terminal 2 (originally called the Europa Building) in 1955.
It will house the 23 Star Alliance carriers as well as Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic Little Red and Germanwings carriers.
