Queensland Floods: Travel industry helps out
The Intrepid Foundation is making a $10,000 donation to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
The Intrepid Foundation will match employees donations to this appeal, dollar for dollar.
Intrepid’s Brisbane retail store has been closed as flood waters threaten parts of the CBD.
The Virgin Group is also backing the relief appeal by asking frequent fliers to donate Velocity points between now and February 14. These will be converted into cash and sent to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Meanwhile, Emirates has waived all fees and penalties for any customers who need to postpone or cancel their flights from or to Brisbane Airport.
Emirates’ Brisbane flights are continuing to operate as scheduled, but those passengers who need to change their flight bookings can contact Emirates on 1300 303 777 or their travel agent.
The waiver extends to passengers travelling on Emirates’ interline airfares from or to other destinations in Queensland that connect with Emirates’ Brisbane services.
