Travel management company Radius has gained a foothold in China by signing up one of the country’s top five travel companies. Beijing-based China CYTS Tours Holding Company has become the global business travel group’s Chinese shareholder. CYTS has locations across China, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong as well as Japan. It is claimed to be amongst the top five travel companies in China and one of the country’s overall top 50. The company specialises in the meetings, incentives, congresses and events (MICE) market as well as an expanding corporate travel section. As part of the deal, CYTS joins the Radius Business Development Group, designed to focus on winning multinational accounts. “With more and more multinational companies setting up in China it has become crucial for any global company to have a strong partner in China,” said Radius in a statement. Radius president and chief executive Tony Hughes said: “The growth of the region and especially China over the coming years means that it was of great strategic importance to us to find the right partner.” The deal means the Radius network now covers all key markets in the Asia Pacific region. The group covers more than 4,600 agency locations in 70 countries worldwide. Report by Phil Davies
