Rail Europe appoints new MD
Rail Europe has promoted Karen McClellan to the position of managing director to replace Vincent Dedecker who has returned to his native France to take up a new position at the company’s parent, SNCF.
McClellan, who has been with the company for 10 years, was previously deputy managing director.
During her time at Rail Europe, she has been responsible for overseeing the introduction of a new back office booking system, new customer facing websites and a number of ticketing solutions designed to simplify the booking process.
"I’m delighted to have been offered the opportunity to head up Rail Europe in the UK," she said. "This is a particularly exciting time to be involved in European rail travel. The deregulation of the European network has seen new operators entering the market place and new high speed routes opening."
