Rail Europe North America downgrades USTOA membership
Citing a change in business strategy, Rail Europe North America Inc has relinquished its U.S. Tour Operators Association (USTOA) active membership.
It is no longer part of the USTOA’s $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.
It has changed its business model in a shift away from selling rail inclusive tour packages.
It will now only sell tickets and rail passes.
As such it is no longer classified as a tour operator Rail Europe North America said.
It will serve both B2B and B2C markets for tickets and rail passes.
Any Rail Europe bookings made before 31 January 2021 are still protected under the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program.
"While the new business model changes our current affiliation status with USTOA, we are pleased to continue the relationship as an Associate Member," said Laurent Tonnellier, General Manager Business, North and South America at Rail Europe.
